It is with great sadness that I write to share the news that one of our old scholars, Shubham Bhatt (Class of 2019) passed away last week in a tragic car accident.
Shubham was a proud Chisholm student, who was always smiling and laughing around the College. A very kind-hearted, generous and humble person who always took care of his friends, Shubham was an outstanding young man who left an impact on many of us here on the Cardijn Campus. Shubham was also a student at Antonio and Galilee for his primary schooling and his brother (Tript Bhatt – Class of 2016) was also a student on the Cardijn Campus.
Shubham’s family own and operate the Aldinga Bay Café so Shubham was a very familiar, friendly face in the Southern region, not just as a student of Cardijn College but as part of a long-running local business in the area.
Friends and students from Cardijn College gathered at Cardijn College last Monday afternoon, to be together and pray for Shubham and his family. A vigil organised by one of Shubham’s classmates was held just yesterday at Aldinga Beach.
Shubham and his family are much loved by the Aldinga community and this is so evident by the community’s amazing response to support the family.
Cardijn College extends our heartfelt condolences to the Bhatt family.
