Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny

Cardijn College Marcellin Campus is well known for its unique program which specialises in working with young people to complete their studies in the SACE, coupled with a program in industry-specific training, leading to an Australian School-based Apprenticeship or employment.

This model of educating, training and guiding students from senior secondary education, through training to employment is what makes Marcellin unique in Australia. Offering flexible learning and pathways as students make important decisions about their future are necessary and expected. Our graduates, the class of 2019, are well prepared to leave their formal secondary schooling and prepare themselves for work and further training.

Our students graduate with a skillset and mindset to enter successfully into employment as critical and creative thinkers, ready to collaborate, communicate, access and analyse information, plan, organise and prioritise work. They are ready and able to put their technical knowledge and experience to the test, knowing that they are work-ready and on their journey to be fully-qualified and skilled in the employment pathway of their choice.

Our graduates have been educated and trained in a Catholic school which prides itself on Catholic values inspired by the Charism of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. Our students embrace the five Marist characteristics of Presence, Simplicity, Family Spirit, Love of Work and In the Way of Mary. Our Christian values connected with our excellence in education and training, produces a graduate who has a well-rounded experience and skill set. The challenge for our students is to put these experiences and skills to the best use in their future and to make a real difference as a global citizen.

I extend my gratitude to the staff of Marcellin for their outstanding work with our students, their families and the community. Their dedication, their service and commitment to providing an outstanding quality in education and training is recognised and acknowledged.

Our class of 2019 has excelled in their completion of Year 12. This is verified by ALL Year 12 students completing their SACE and training requirements and those who are recipients of commendations and awards. I extend my congratulations to every student graduating and to their families who have been instrumental in supporting their son or daughter.

The Cardijn College Board under the leadership of Ms Helen Bates has continued to support and commit to the ongoing development of our Marcellin campus. This year we opened a new wing with training facilities to support Hair and Beauty, Health and Personal Care and Early Learning. These facilities also included the REDARC Technology Centre which was designed specifically for our STEM studies. We are also delighted with our $800,000 redevelopment of the frontage of the campus and the new student outside area and café, which is currently in progress. We thank Helen and members of the Board for their dedicated and committed service.

Our Industry partners are part of our success and we thank them for their commitment, continued support and contribution to our training quality and industry opportunities. We recognise and appreciate the importance of their involvement in partnership with Marcellin.

Finally, to the class of 2019, I leave you with this thought: “Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny”. You are well prepared to tackle your next challenge and we wish you every blessing and success.
